4+ Players Waiting.
4-off/4-on Play
(Double Queue System)

1-3 Players Waiting.
2-off/2-on Play
(Single Queue System)

In Pickleball open play sessions, there will be players waiting to join the next game. We use one of two systems defined below to ensure everyone gets a chance to play.

  • 4+ Players Waiting. 4-off/4-on Play. Double Queue System.

    • FIRST: After a completed game, all (4) players leave the court. There are two queue’s of paddles one for “W”inners and one for “L”osers.

      • Winning team’s paddles are placed at the back of the queue (in a paddle rack or on the ground) on the “W” side.

      • Losing team’s paddles are placed at the back of the queue (in a paddle rack or on the ground) on the “L” side.

    • SECOND: 4 new players go on the court taking paddles from the front of the indicated side.

    • THIRD: An indicator mark rotates from one side to the other after all paddles are removed. Waiting paddles are moved to front of queue.

    • Play is to 9 points, win by 2.

  • 1-3 Players Waiting. 2-off/2-on Play. Single Queue System.

    • FIRST: After a completed game, the losing team (2) players leave the court. The losing team places their paddles at end of single paddle queue (in a paddle rack or on the ground.)

    • SECOND: Winners stay on, split sides of the court so they do not play together for the next game, and play with the next 2 players in the queue. All players leave the court after 2 consecutive games, regardless of win and place their paddles at end of queue.

    • Play is to 9 points, win by 2.

    • During the second-half of play (45min. into a 90min. session), the losing team stays on and splits and winning team leaves the court.
