Safe, effective play.
-
Due to a growing number of "no-shows," if you must cancel your session, we require that you remove your name by 10AM the day before you are scheduled to play.
If you are on the waitlist, please check the list regularly or remove your name.
We have begun tracking those who miss sessions and we will take action if we begin to see a trend.

In Pickleball open play sessions, there will be players waiting to join the next game. We use one of two systems defined below to ensure everyone gets a chance to play:
-
In the event of RAIN
If it is raining or the court is wet, we will cancel the session in two ways: Posting a quick note on TeamReach, and we will cancel the session on playtimescheduler.
We do not recommend playing when the court surface is not dry or slippery due to water or other condition.
In the event of SNOW/ICE
If the weather is snowy/icy the Grace Chapel Indoor sessions may be cancelled. Those who are signed up will receive an email and we will post the update on TeamReach.
Grace Chapel may also close their facility due to weather or other events, and in those instances we will email those registered and post on TeamReach.
-
We strongly encourage all players to pay for their sessions in advance using our LPC store page. This will speed up the check in process at the door.
-
Players should always behave respectfully, in a way that reflects well on themselves and the game of pickleball.
Players exhibiting offensive behavior will be given a warning once. Repeat offenders will be removed from LPC membership and our TeamReach group.

Why do we need a Rating for each Player?
Even just for social open play, having an accurate rating for each player helps us arrange open play sessions by level.
If you want to play in tournaments, then having an accurate rating also lets you compete with people with similar skills.
What contributes to a Rating Level?
Knowledge of the game: scoring (traditional, rally), basic and esoteric rules
Knowledge of rotation systems and use of paddle racks
Variety of shots: forehand, backhand, volley, dink, overhead, lob, reset, drop
Consistency of serve, return, and shots
Number of unforced errors
Length of sustainable rally
Court positioning and working with partner, playing tactically
Ability to play hard and soft rallies
The Lexington Pickleball Rating Guide
Please use this ratings guide (PDF) to either self evaluate your own rating, or talk to one of the coaches at the club to help you access.

In general, the Lexington Pickleball Club posts Open Play Sessions on playtimescheduler.com (PTS) for members (and for some indoor sessions for non-LPC members).
Indoor Open Play Sessions are posted 7 days before the end of the month.
Outdoor Open Play Sessions are posted 7-14 days before the session date.
