Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Lexington Recreation Tennis and Pickleball Membership vs the LPC PASS?

The Lexington department of recreation allows players to reserve unused tennis and pickleball courts for private use. The department sells a annual Pickleball Membership allowing players to reserve the court for free beyond the membership fee. If you want to reserve a court for your own use, consider purchasing that membership. For 2025, it will go on sale at 6am Feb 25th from the Lexington Recreation website.

The Lexington Pickleball club, LPC PASS provide managed open play sessions every day of the week outdoors during May to October. You must purchase the LPC PASS to play in any of these sessions. The PASS also provide priority for registering for indoor sessions for fall/winter of 2025. If you are interested in playing in our managed open play, purchase the LPC PASS. It will go on sale March 1st, Saturday, at 10am.

These two programs are complimentary. Depending on your playing needs, you may purchase one or both!

I see LPC Grace Chapel sessions posted on playtimescheduler.com but why do they say “Invite Only”?

There are two possible reasons that you see a LPC session shown as "Invite Only":

Wrong Level: One reason is that the session is marked for a player level that is outside of your range. For example if you are a 3.75 player, you will not be able to join a 2.5-2.75 session.

Timing: A second reason is that LPC does not always open a session up to the general membership and public. The Grace chapel open sessions for Winter 2025 are posted first as invite only to last years PASS holders as part of the PASS benefit. The sessions will be open to everyone the week before the month starts.

What is the cancellation policy for the paid indoor sessions at Grace?

You must cancel before 6pm the day before to avoid getting charged for no-shows. Full details on the policy is here.

What are your policies for Workshop, Session Posting, Court Rotation, Open Play?

Will there be a 2025 Outdoor PASS Program?

We are working on how we will manage the outdoor sessions come Spring 2025. Stay tuned.

How can we get more Pickleball Courts in Lexington?

Lexington has limited resources in terms of available land. The town works hard to share the available resources across all recreational and other needs. The Lexington Recreation Committee is the key decision maker. Please let them know if you would like to have more access to more courts using their contact form.

Which side serves at LPC Courts?

At the indoor courts at Grace, the wall side serves first.
At Adams and Clarke, the fence side serves first.

What are the Social Leagues and How Can You Join?

LPC’s Social Leagues (SL) are weekly indoor games held at Grace Chapel, where you play at the same time each week throughout the entire month.

Monthly SL memberships can be purchased on the LPC website during the first week of the previous month (first-come, first-served). We’ll announce on the LPC TeamReach group when SL memberships are available for purchase.

If you missed out on a membership, you may still be able to join individual sessions if spots become available. These will be posted on PTS.  For more details, check out our Social League page.

How do we rotate players on and off courts during open play?

Our most used rotation system is the 4 on 4 off, alternating winner and non winner queues system. We use paddle racks built by our talented board member Steve Parus. The full court rotation policy can be found here.

Where is Grace Chapel? How do I get to the courts?

LPC Indoor sessions are held at the gym on the second floor at Grace Chapel Lexington, 59 Worthen Rd, Lexington, MA 02421. During early weekday hours, use the door that is on the far right at the main entrance.

Please change into your court shoes before entering the gym to keep the floors clean if possible.
